The University of Sydney Union provided a range of fun entertainment and activities when they staged their 2022 Welcome Fest. The event took place over 3 days, from Feb 16th -18th.
The Welcome Fest offers the opportunity for first-time and returning students to socialise, join societies and clubs and familiarise themselves with the campus vibe. Over the three days, the program included multiple stalls, demonstrations, movie nights, dance, freebies and surprise secret performances by well known Australian artists.
The main stage entertainment, presented by Love Buds included a plethora of live performances, speeches, debates, presentations, music and dance. The crowd pleasing program provided something for everyone and took place over the three days of welcome festivities,
Megadeck was pleased to be able to be a part of this exciting event by providing several pieces of staging equipment. In addition to those directly provided by us, we sourced the 14m wide x 11m deep main stage externally. It was clad in a custom valance, designed to highlight the “Love Buds” theme.
Megadeck provided rolling risers which were used to elevate instruments for several of the musical acts including Amy Shark and Ocean Alley. Rolling instrument risers allow a quick and seamless change-over of equipment between acts. They also improve sound quality and create a more inclusive visual effect for audience members, allowing them to see all the musicians on stage.
To aid the process of safely transporting equipment to and from the stage with ease, we supplied a discreetly located back-of-house ramp. Megadeck goods ramps enable easy stage access for the delivery of equipment of all types and sizes for live acts and demonstrations.
Our final contribution to the event was front-of-house risers which were installed outdoors on the beautifully maintained lawn area. An assortment of protective packing materials were applied during the installation to protect and preserve the well cared for Sydney University landscape.
Megadeck is an industry leader in providing staging for all types of events whether indoors or outdoors. The greatest care is always taken to ensure the existing space and surroundings are left undamaged, as was the case with the lovely lawns of the Sydney University in this event.
